    To enrol on this qualification, learners must:

    • Hold a VTCT Level 4 qualification in Laser and Light Therapies (or equivalent).
    • Be aged 18 years or older.
    • Demonstrate a good understanding of anatomy, physiology, and skin science.
    • Have access to a clinical environment for practical case studies (where applicable).
  • Understand the principles of laser tattoo removal, including laser-tissue interaction and selective photothermolysis.

  • Identify different types of tattoo pigments and their responses to various laser wavelengths.

  • Carry out client consultations, including medical history, patch testing, and informed consent.

  • Develop treatment plans and manage realistic client expectations..

  • Perform safe and effective laser tattoo removal treatments using Q-switched and Nd:YAG systems.

  • Recognise contraindications, complications, and apply appropriate aftercare advice.

  • Follow legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements in accordance with local authority and insurance standards
